Brent worked for the Toronto Blue Jays, including the World Series Championship years of 1992 and 1993.

His passion is working with athletes of all levels to maximize their performance potential and keep them healthy while participating in sport and recreation.

Brent specializes in prevention and rehab of baseball injuries, performance, swing and throwing analysis.

He is a Foot specialist and custom orthotics expert for athletes of all levels, as well as general population. Dispencing specialty orthotics for ski boots, skates, baseball, tennis and golf.

He provides video analysis of alpine skiers, skaters, runners and baseball players, to optimize performance.

Brent received his Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, major in Athletic Therapy, from the University of Calgary in 1986. He spent 11 years in the Toronto Blue Jays system, including nine years as the Assistant Athletic Trainer with the Major-League club. Following his baseball career Brent trained under Dr. Glenn Copeland DPM and worked as an Orthotist at Footmaxx International, designing and providing foot orthotics for professional and elite amateur athletes and teams.

He continues to integrate his experience in athletics, performance, biomechanics, coaching and rehabilitation to provide multifunctional support to the athletic population.

He has been a part of the team since 2001.

CECILIA CHAN Physiotherapist

OPTIMIST PROBLEM SOLVER VERSATILE

Cecilia completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy at Queen’s University. Her clinical experience is wide ranging, including treating orthopedic, neurological and respiratory conditions in a clinic, hospital, and in home setting. She also has years as a sport parent in multiple sports. She’s worked with national high-performance level adolescent tennis, gymnastics, baseball, soccer, hockey and volleyball athletes.

With the completion of diverse number of post graduate courses and varied clinical experience, Cecilia has a unique set of clinical tools from which to call upon to customize treatment plans for her clients. Her clinical intervention involves empowering clients through education, exercise prescription and manual therapy techniques. Collaboration with other health care professionals, coaches and/or caregivers is also integrated into her treatment plans for optimal recovery.

In her spare time, Cecilia enjoys reading, playing piano, watching documentaries, and travelling.

Simon grew up playing competitive basketball with multiple severe sports injuries. These experiences have allowed him to understand the importance of proper rehabilitation and treasure the opportunities to help others to restore their and function in order to live a healthy life. He believes that true happiness is deeply rooted from physical wellness.

He has extensive clinical experience ranging from high performance athletes to people with chronic diseases. He is not settled with rehabilitate his clients to pre-injury state, but to build a stronger body to resist future injuries.

DANIEL HILBORN Osteopathic Manual Practitioner Certified Athletic Therapist

Dan grew up in Markham playing a wide variety of competitive sports including baseball, golf, hockey, and volleyball. Through playing these sports and suffering multiple injuries he learned to appreciate the importance of finding a good therapist who could keep him mobile, strong, and pain free. Because of this, he developed his practice around finding ways to keep his patients mobile, free of pain, active, and doing the sports and everyday activities they want to be doing. Outside of work her can often be found golfing, playing recreational baseball and hockey or spending time with his wife and son.

Daniel received his Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology in 2010 from Western University. Following his undergraduate degree Daniel completed his Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences (Athletic Therapy) degree from Sheridan College. Following this, he pursued his interest in Osteopathy completing his Diploma as an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner. Daniel’s treatment philosophy revolves around treating the underlying causes of pain and dysfunction to help clients achieve a better mobility, flexibility, ROM, and strength, and improving sport and athletic performance & decreasing pain. Adam has been an athlete his whole life, playing a variety of sports at a high level growing up. He found a love for Rugby in his teenage years and played for many years, finishing his career playing for Acadia University and winning a Maritime Championship in 2013. Adam is passionate about sports in general and combines this with his knowledge of human performance to help his clients reach their goals and live a pain free life. Adam combines soft tissue techniques, taping skills with appropriate exercise and stretching that are targeted for each clients needs.

Adam graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology in 2013, followed by graduating from Kikkawa College in 2015 where he got his diploma in Massage Therapy.

He has extensive experience working with varsity athletes across a wide range of sports, including tennis, hockey, and football. Growing up involved in soccer, dance, and gymnastics, she eventually found her home in competitive cheerleading—competing for seven years and coaching for ten. Daniel uses an integrative approach to create a safe and customized treatment program. He believes in empowering people to take an active role to improve their health and wellbeing. Daniel has a special interest in cranial osteopathy including neck injuries and concussion management. Treatment may include: cranio-sacral therapy, visceral manipulation, muscle energy, passive vertebral mobilizations, soft-tissue techniques (including fascial stretching, membrane tension, ligamentous balance), and rehabilitative exercise programs.

Daniel completed his Bachelors of Kinesiology and Philosophy at the University of Western Ontario (2003). He graduated with Honours from Sheridan College (2008) with a Bachelors of Applied Health Science in Athletic Therapy. Jason Varghese is one of our senior team members, who has been working with Honsberger Physio for over 18 years. Jason heads our Corporate Care division - an Industrial and Ergonomics Management program that provides cost-saving solutions and therapy management for businesses.

Jason holds dual credentials, being both a Certified Athletic Therapist and Certified Kinesiologist and is also certified as an Emergency First Responder. He has extensive experience working in both the athletic and clinical community, bringing his athletic expertise from all levels including his work at the Olympic level.

Jason believes in empowering his clients using a wholistic and proactive approach, focusing on the root sources behind a problem to create sustainable change and optimal performance. Jason incorporates many advanced muscle therapy and manual techniques in his practice, including Active Release and Muscle Energy Techniques, Aquatic Therapy, Visceral Therapy, and Craniosacral Therapy.
